The 6th Congressional District of GA will hold a special election for the U.S. House of Representatives on April 18, 2017 in order to fill the seat of Tom Price (R), recently confirmed as the new U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. Learn more about the candidates and their platforms here. Here's why this election is significant.

Voting eligibility

This election ONLY applies to voters in Congressional District 6 -- home to much of the northern Metro Atlanta area. If you registered to vote in Athens, GA in the fall but have a permanent residence in District 6, you can change your voter registration to your permanent address.

(E.g. If you are originally from the North Fulton area and changed your voter registration address to your dorm in Athens, you can change it back to North Fulton and vote in this election.)

  • Click here to find what district you're from in GA or use the interactive map.

  • Change voter registration (or register to vote) here.

*Note: You must have a GA driver's license to register online. You must register to vote in District 6 by Monday, March 20th.*

Voter registrations will take a few days to process. You do not need to receive a voter card in the mail to confirm the registration or address change (contrary to what the registration website says). Continue to check the GA My Voter Page frequently to check to confirm voter registration or address change.
